Who says learning is expensive?
Some would say that the reason they did not succeed in life is because they are unlearned. They stopped schooling at an early age, hence, they learned only very little.
Who says learning is expensive?
Mads Holmen explains the difference between education and learning in his online article entitled “Education vs. Learning – What Exactly is the Difference?” He states that formal education comprises extrinsic (outside) motivation, curriculum, and passivity as the students tend to expect to learn from the lectures of the teachers. On the other hand, learning comprises intrinsic (inside) motivation, curiosity, and activity as they embark on the challenge of actually learning something. In other words, his point is summed up in one line as he quoted Joi Ito in her maxim:
“Education is what people do to you. Learning is what you do for yourself.”
Here in STI College Muñoz-EDSA, learning comes for FREE as we offer English Workshop for FREE! Every week, whoever is intrinsically motivated, curious, and active, is welcome to learn with us without paying anything!
We meet every Saturday, 9:00-12:00 at STI College Muñoz-EDSA’s room 104B. This is open to STIers and High School students who are willing to learn while having fun! We do different activities such as round table discussions, debates, impromptu and prepared speaking, writing, quiz bees, and a lot more!
See? Learning need not be expensive. In fact, learning comes for free to those who desire it!
