NSTP Troops to Schools
As part of our commitment to serve the community, the NSTP Department, in coordination with the Admission Office, participated in the Brigada Eskwela project which was organized by Department of Education (DepEd). This event was participated by students who were enrolled in the course NSTP 1 and 2 during the Summer of 2015. The said activity was held at Ismael Mathay Sr. High School and Culiat National High School last May 18, 2015.
The NSTP students left the school with their NSTP Coach, Mr. Argel N. Barrientos at 7:00 A.M. They arrived in Ismael Mathay Sr. High School at 8:00 A.M. and participated in the program’s kick-off ceremony. They were welcomed by the school event’s program head, Ms. Raquel Ceralde, and carried on with the task of applying varnish to the repaired chairs until 11:30 A.M.
After that, they had lunch and proceeded to their next destination, Culiat National High School, where they met Ms. Lerma Tuazon, the head of the school’s Brigada Eskwela. There, they painted the grills of the first and second floor of one building until around 3:30 P.M. They arrived at STI at exactly 4:30 P.M.
According to the students, they felt a sense of nationalism and social responsibility when they volunteered for the Brigada Eskwela. They did not just finish a requirement in their course. More than that, they empowered themselves through their service to others.
Indeed, this is yet another milestone for our NSTP students who, through the help of the school’s outdoor NSTP projects, ignite in their hearts the passion to serve, work, and build for our country and community.
