Manila Bay Clean-up Drive
As part of our mission to provide a 21st century education by adopting the Outcome Based Education, the NSTP Department of STI College Munoz-EDSA in partnership with Rotaract Club of STI College Muñoz-EDSA and Historiador Club, organized an Environmental Awareness Campaign for the NSTP 2 students by engaging them into a Clean-up drive activity at the Manila Bay. This historic event was held along the Baywalk area at Roxas Boulevard, Manila last November 28, 2015.
Together with the NSTP coordinator, Mr. Morano, and the NSTP coaches present namely Mr. Romero, Mr. Barrientos, Ms. Peramo, Ms. Pilvera, and Ms. Diano, the students convened at STI College Muñoz-EDSA Campus at 5:30 A.M. They arrived at the venue at around 6:15 A.M., then started with the briefing and activity.
The volunteers were able to collect around 20-30 sacks of garbage from the seaside of Manila Bay until 9:00 A.M., and were given refreshments. There were around 385 out of 400+ NSTP-CWTS 2 students who attended the event. According to students’ feedback, this is one way of expressing love for the environment and for the country made them feel productive on a typical Saturday. Thanks to all the people involved this activity, such awareness was created to the students.
This momentous event was also participated by other Academic and Government organizations namely University of Santo Tomas (UST) ROTC Unit, EARIST-ROTC Unit, and the Philippine Coast Guards Auxilliary (PCG).
