Just E’s League: The Silver Empire
In celebration of STI College Muñoz-EDSA’s 25th (Silver) Anniversary), this year’s Academic Week came with a Justice League-inspired theme which is “Just E’s League: The Silver Empire” centered on the 4 E’s of Experience Economy: Educational, Esthetic, Escapist and Entertainment. This is to show how our institution has been working around these different experiences to cater to the various needs of our students throughout the years.
Day 1: Escape
An escape from the regular classroom learning, the opening ceremony of the Academic Week started off with a parade of the ten groups, each group with a cosplayer of their assigned Justice League superhero. Everyone was then welcomed by the Academic Unit Head, Ms. Marilyn M. Afable before the escapist games, competitions and workshops were held involving robotics, doodle art, declamation, laro ng lahi, slogan-making, and club expo.
Day 2: Esthetic
The second day was focused on sensory-rich activities including cooking and food competition, Science exhibit, film-showing, drawing competition, cocktail-mixing, peer counseling, and personality development seminar.
Day 3: Education
Geared towards knowledge formation and retention, this day was dedicated to various quiz bees, Filipino and English writing competition, food geography, tour-guiding, as well as the showcase of projects of BS Information Technology, BS Computer Science and BS Computer Engineering.
Day 4: Entertainment
Plotted for fun, learning and entertainment, activities done this day were amazing race, food bazaar, hardware programming, and outbreak (a survival game with mysteries to solve). The coaches and staff also rendered a surprise number when they entered as a flash mob that really entertained and pleased the students.
Furthermore, a Mental Health Awareness Workshop was held attended by representatives from different partner schools and barangays.
This 4-day event held last September 18-21, 2018 was jam-packed with activities for education and entertainment that touch on the esthetic and escapist nature of the students’ generation. This is indeed a fruitful celebration of our 25 years, and a warm welcome to what we could further become in the coming years.
