Helping Hands
A group of Senior High School students from STI College Muñoz-EDSA were caught giving away sandwiches, as well as encouraging bible verses and words of wisdom to random people in and out of campus. They’ve been doing this for quite a number of times already since July 2017.
The said students were from HUMSS301BR who are church mates. A topic in one of their church services was on generosity which really stirred their hearts to give. Almost every day, these students would get 10 to 20 pesos from their own pockets to buy a loaf of bread and sandwich filling. Then, they would handwrite words of encouragement or bible verses to share with the people they wish to motivate in life.
“Hindi naman po sa halaga nabibilang ang ibinabahagi, kundi sa pusong pinanggagalingan. Nalulungkot at nasasaktan po kami kapag may mga araw na hindi po kami nakakapag-share.” (It’s not about the amount given, but the heart of the giver. We are sad and pained at times we are not able to share our blessings.), says one of them.
According to the students, two individuals gave their tithes to them as support for their endeavor. Even if the money does not come from them, they feel like they are being used as vessels of blessings to other people.
The students are hoping that through this activity, they can be able to inspire more people to continue with life no matter what the circumstances, and for more people to continue sharing the blessings they have even in the simplest deeds.
If you would like to join these students in their pursuit to be conduits of blessings to others, you may approach any of the following from HUMSS301BR:
Banacia, Janel Joy G.
Delos Santos, Mary Joy
Gundran, Mhaxine Angel
Mendoza, Sofia Katrina
Yap, Jamaimah Grace
Yanguas, Mikaella
STI College Muñoz-EDSA is proud to have students like them who are willing to give their time, money, and effort for the love of others. Thank you and may you be blessed as you continue to be blessings to others.
