GE Week 2014
We’ve read about how our IT and HRM students showcased their talents and skills in the recently held inter-collegiate programming competition and the National Food Showdown. We also saw how our IT and HTM coaches supported and trained their student-contestants to perform at their best. This time, we will read about how students from different departments united as their General Education (GE) coaches had a chance to guide them in showing off their skills and discovering their hidden talents. For the past few years, we have been celebrating both IT and HTM week.
But what aboutthe GE Department’s celebration which comprises the most number of coaches that the students have?
In his good intentions to celebrate the GE Week again after several years of not doing so, our NSTP / Student Affairs Coordinator, Mr. Wilson Morano, with the support of our GE Head, Mr. Laurence Magdalaga, started to bake this idea last school year. This year, with the collaboration of all GE coaches, as well as the other departments, Mr. Morano’s dream finally came into reality.
The three-day event was held last September 30 to October 2 with the theme “Rearing Stewardship: A Fulfillment of Our Dreams”. It started with the ribbon cutting on the first day at 9:00 a.m.followed by the parade of the different groups. Then, the Doxology followed led by Amabel Ayuhan, and the Philippine National Anthem led by Queenie Ayuhan. After honoring the Creator and the country, the STI Hymn was played to honor the school, after which the event was formally opened by the GE Head, Mr. Laurence Magdalaga.
At 10:00 a.m., the competitions started. Below are the details of the event:

The meeting ended with a fellowship over pizza shared with the entire faculty. Thank you coaches!
Lastly, let us not forget to applaud all our students who participated in this year’s GE Week. Indeed, this event has been a successful one because of your all-out participation. You’ve allowed yourselves to stretch and discover the skills you don’t know you have. Once again, thank you and congratulations! See you at the next GE Week!
