Farewell, Success, Thanks Giving and Advice
Candidates for Graduation gathered all together to celebrate their two to four years of victory during the first Graduation Ball in STI College Muñoz – EDSA held at the covered court last March 16, 2012.
The ball was participated by the graduating batch from different programs which purpose was to celebrate the fruit of their hard-work, bid farewell to friends and colleagues and thank all the people who became a big part of their lives as a student in the college and most certainly, thank God for the wisdom and guidance during their college life. This also aims to showcase, for the last time, the skills and talents of the graduating batch as they shall be departing to become future young professionals.
The event was officially started with the open talk of Mr. Dave Diamante, a certified inspirational and life coach in the Philippines, some parts of Asia, Europe and the United States, about how to win in life through extending one’s horizon and thinking out of the box paired with hard-work and determination. He also emphasized that a person may succeed if he/she will aim for excellence and will not just think of self-development alone but also the development of the country. He ended his talk with some guidelines and recommendations to the students on what to expect in the industry after their graduation and how they can cope up with the challenges that they may face.
It was followed immediately with the production numbers prepared by different classes of the graduating batch and selected performances from the faculty members and students. Ten performances were showcased during the event and it was the extravagant, bold and grand performance of MA401P/E emerged the best performance of the night with their Lady Gaga’s Alejandro dance act mixed with Asian Music and K-Pop beat. Together with them on 1st place was BT801P with their dance number of k-pop/ballroom mixes and BS801P with a live band performance. Consolation prizes were also given to the participating classes.
A separate competition called, “Star of the Night” also took place where Jeremy Umali won as the Female Star of the Night and James Thomas Ongpin as the Male Star of the Night for wearing the best outfit that represented their personality. Special crowd award was also given to Rhi Rhi Cabrera (DT401P/E) dressed in character as Rihannaand Ethan Se (MA401P/E) dressed as Lady Gaga together with Ar-Em Velasco and Levy Sison.
The first graduation ball received a very good response from the students particularly from the graduating batch and the organizers hope the same intensity of participation next year. Credits also to, “Rocks and Spirits” for the preparation of the snacks and drinks, faculty members who participated the event and the Student Coordinating Council together with the student volunteers for making the event a success.
