College wins Bronze Medal in National Food Showdown!
For the past two years, the Hospitality and Travel Management (HTM) department has painstakingly nurtured and molded the young chefs, hoteliers, and restaurateurs of STI College-Muñoz EDSA in joining one of the prestigious competitions among Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs) nationwide, the National Food Showdown. As always, the hard work of the students was paid off by being on the rank when it comes to skills that entitled them to be called survivors.
Held at World Trade Center Metro Manila, the 7th National Food Showdown 2013 was participated by various universities, culinary schools, and colleges headed by ABS CBN TV Food Chefs. This year, we participated in four entries:
1. Chef Wars-Classical Western – Margarette Clarin, Ricacel Santiago and Francis Sapico
2. Mocktail Mixing – Cherry Ibañez
3. Baby Cakes – Aira Krizzaleen Alarcon
4. Napkin Folding – Angieneth Obispo
With the theme, “Mastering the Basics”, the event undoubtedly inspired and ignited the burning spirit of the contestants to further showcase their passion and stand out in their own fields. Our very own STI’er of Muñoz EDSA, Ms. Cherry Ibañez, once again proved that we are competitive in any fields by BAGGING THE BRONZE MEDAL during the Mocktail Mixing contest last September 21, 2013 at the World Trade Center Metro Manila.
The STI Muñoz EDSA family salutes the contestants and coaches for bringing out their best in every endeavor. They are truly an inspiration for others to continue to strive for more recognitions in all upcoming events and competitions.
To Miss Cherry Ibañez and the rest of the participants this year, YOU TRULY embody the “ANGAT ESTUDYANTE” advocacy of our school, and we are PROUD of you. Expect our presence in the 8th National Food Showdown next year. For sure, more STI Muñoz students will shine and be the PRIDE of STI College Muñoz EDSA.
