College wins Java Programming Competition
STI College Muñoz – EDSA’s Sherwin Lagumen (BSIT) and Sean Michael Vasquez (BSCS) won 2nd place in the 1st St. Paul University Inter – School I.T. Competition last February 17, 2012 at the St. Paul University, Manila.
The I.T. competition was divided into three other competitions: Go Navigate which adapted the concept of “The Amazing Race” without having to travel using Google Earth; I.T. Quiz Bee which focused on the core and basic knowledge in the field of Information Technology and Java Programming Competition which challenged the critical and logical thinking of the students in JAVA programming.
The college, together with Don Bosco Technical College on 1st Place and National University on 3rd Place, ended 2nd place after finishing all the seven (7) machine problems in JAVA besting other schools like AMA Computer College – Manadaluyong, Golden Link College, Arellano University – Legarda, Arellano University – Pasig, St. Paul University – Quezon City, Batangas State University, Lyceum of the Philippines University and Manila Central University.
The entire STI College Muñoz – EDSA family also congratulates the participants Go Navigate, Jerald Dela Cruz (BSIT), Mark Francis Eleazar (BSIT) and Jayson Delos Santos (BSIT) who tied with Don Bosco Technical Institute on 5th place and I.T. Quiz Bee, Freddie Verzo III (BSIT), Sean Salcedo (BSCS) and Lynyrd Yanga (BSIT) together with their coaches, Mr. Richard Anthony Sesbreño, Miss Minamin Gonida and Mr. McRey Marcelo, who supported the students during the competition.
