Student Council Election 2012
Empowering our students thru responsible, independent and creative leadership, STI College Munoz EDSA once again streamlined the Student Council (SC) election by developing another computerized election system. In coordination with the MIS department, the election was held in the Internet Lab last July 23-26, 2012. The system was developed by Mr. Billie Boy L. De Leon with the assistance of Sherwin Eymard R. Lagumen and Angelo Mari S. Bantiling. Before the system was used, representatives from both running-parties – the Legacy and the Link tested the system and to further safeguard the election process incumbent Student Council members operated the system.
Weeks before the SC election, both parties conducted their room-to-room campaign. After that, they paused for a while to prepare for the Preliminary exam. Utilizing the power and the convenience of social networking site – Facebook/STI.MUNOZ, members of the SC conducted an on-line forum to hear the opinions of the SC candidates in various pop, social, political or campus concerns. As part of the last leg of the election campaign the SC candidates faced the selected classroom presidents and once again the candidates shared again their individual advocacy.
To give tribute to the members of the Student Council 2011-2012, they will be recognized on their participation in the Teen Empowerment Workshop (TEW). They will be best remembered as the people behind the milestone of first-ever held events like Viva Voce and Graduation ball and other usual events like the Annual sportfest etc. If you are not actively participating in these various students’ events, definitely you will not see the Student Council as they work silently.
The Student Council 2012-2013 will take their oath during the Acquaintance this end of the month.
